Ambiguous Narrative Construction

#creative writing #narrative #ambiguity #symbolism

Write a narrative with intentional ambiguity and symbolism in it

Write a complete short story (1500-2000 words) that employs intentional ambiguity and symbolic elements to explore a profound human experience (grief, identity, transformation, etc.). Your story should have at least three levels of interpretation—literal, allegorical, and psychological. Create a narrative structure that includes deliberate gaps and unresolved elements that invite reader participation in meaning-making. Include recurring motifs, imagery patterns, or objects that carry symbolic weight and evolve in significance throughout the story. After your narrative, provide a brief commentary (200-300 words) explaining your authorial choices regarding ambiguity and how you designed the story to support multiple valid interpretations without privileging one over another.
