Autonomous Agent
A computational entity capable of making independent decisions based on its perceptions of the environment, without direct external intervention, pursuing its own objectives while collaborating with other agents.
Collective Intelligence
The ability of a group of agents to produce solutions and behaviors more intelligent than those that could be generated by an isolated agent, thanks to cooperation and inter-agent communication.
Multi-Agent Negotiation
An iterative communication process through which agents reach mutually beneficial agreements regarding resource allocation or action coordination.
Multi-Agent Learning
A learning paradigm where multiple agents simultaneously acquire skills and knowledge, mutually influencing their learning policies in a shared environment.
Multi-Agent Simulation
Computational modeling of complex systems where virtual agents interact according to predefined rules to study the evolution of emergent and dynamic phenomena.
Distributed Decision-Making
A decision-making process where responsibility is distributed among several autonomous agents who collaborate to reach a consensus or an optimal solution.
Adaptive System
A multi-agent system capable of dynamically modifying its behavior and structure in response to environmental changes or task requirements.
Rational Agent
An agent that systematically chooses the action that maximizes a performance measure based on its knowledge, beliefs, and the information available in its environment.
FIPA Protocol
Communication and interaction standard defined by the Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents, specifying languages and protocols for interoperability between heterogeneous agents.
